Back at the cave's entrance, the sun was setting. The bats were due for a mass exit very soon. We sat close together on a flat spot directly between the 2 caves and waited. First a few bats appeared, flying in circles. In a flash, a dozen were zipping about, then a hundred, and then there were too many to count. It was an intense and beautiful 30 minutes as the whole cave emptied into the night.
